Virginia The State For Lovers

Virginia a state with warm sandy beaches, interesting boardwalks, and a vibrant night life, is the perfect destination for lovers. But that’s not new! Since 1969 Virginia has adopted the world renowned slogan “Virginia is for Lovers.” So why not come see for yourself!

Virginia has plenty to offer including some of the most remote and most pristine beaches in all of the United States. From the vibrant activities at Virginia Beach to the gentle waves of the Chesapeake Shores, to the remote Chincoteague beaches and the barrier islands there is so much to see and do!

Enjoy a leisurely swim, grab your air mattress and float around with the love of your life, or curl up in your beach chair with your favorite book and soak up some rays on the sandy beaches.

Watch the water sports or participate yourself. Relax or enjoy an invigorating day on the water. Or why not spend some time snorkeling or scuba diving. There’s an amazing diversity of underwater life that’s just waiting to take your heart away!

If you love to fish then why not try your hand at getting the catch of the day. And when the fishing is done spend some leisurely time on a boat ride. Explore, relax, and enjoy! You might also consider a sunset cruise, or dining and dancing on one of the exotic yachts.

But wait; there is more to Virginia than beaches! Don’t forget the mountains and be sure to visit the mile high Mount Rogers which is the tallest mountain in the state. If you enjoy hiking then be sure to check out the 540 mile long Appalachian Trail which runs right through Virginia. Trails connect and are accessible from a variety of points. It’s an amazing mix of mother nature!

If you’d rather drive than hike, take a cruise along the Blue Ridge Parkway or the Skyline Drive for some of the most spectacular scenery in the state. Don’t forget your camera because there’s some once in a lifetime memories here!

Virginia is also known for her world class musical performers. Whether you enjoy country, blues, jazz, folk, pop, or classical there’s a live performance just waiting to be enjoyed!

Speaking of music if you are looking for a night out you’ve got all kinds of great choices. From some serious partying and some of the well known dance clubs to a romantic night at one of the small quaint pubs. You choose! In fact why not try out a few? You’ll be glad you did!

One other perk found in Virginia is the weather. Here it’s not too cold and not too hot. This subtropical region can be a bit humid in the summer especially along the east coast but there is less humidity in the mountain areas. Average temperatures in January are around 45 [F] while average temperatures during July are around 80 [F]

This year Virginia celebrates 35 years as being recognized as a state for lovers to visit. It all started back in 1969 with the “Virginia is for lovers,” slogan that is still used today. The late 60s was a time of peace and hippies, and Virginia was quick to capture this market. Today they still provide an environment that is attractive to lovers of all ages.

Whether you are ready to explore the beaches, mountains, learn about the history of Virginia, enjoy one of the many entertaining and vibrant cities, or relax in the outback while enjoying Virginian hospitality, there is much to see and do in Virginia. Virginia truly is for lovers so why not come find your own love story here?
