DICOM solutions use several levels of support. The primary level is the support for image exchange for both senders and receivers. Others include support for connecting to databases to retrieve image information. They also allow other devices to find out which images have been stored in the DICOM archive so it can be retrieved easily. Other levels deal with image management, patient scheduling information, image quality, media storage, and security.
